Common Household Electrical Work Done Safely and Professionally

Outlets that stopped working, switches that control nothing, ceiling fans that wobble — these are everyday electrical issues most homeowners encounter at some point. They’re also the type of work that gets put off because calling an electrician feels like overkill for a single outlet.

We handle the residential electrical work that’s within a handyman’s scope: device replacements, fixture installs, ceiling fan swaps, GFCI upgrades, and troubleshooting common wiring quirks. We’re straight with you about scope — jobs that require a licensed electrician (panel work, major rewiring, permits) get referred out, not attempted.

⚠️ We handle device-level electrical work at outlets, switches, and fixtures. Panel modifications, new circuit runs, service upgrades, and permit-required work require a licensed electrician — we’ll tell you clearly when that’s the case.

FAQ

Common Questions About Electrical Work

Can you work on the electrical panel?+
No. Panel work — breaker replacement, service upgrades, new circuit additions — requires a licensed electrician in Georgia. We’re upfront about this and can refer you to someone qualified if you need panel work done.
My outlet stopped working and the breaker isn’t tripped — what’s going on?+
Often a GFCI outlet somewhere upstream has tripped and killed power to a downstream outlet. We troubleshoot exactly this kind of thing. Bring us in and we’ll trace it.
Do I need permits for outlet or fixture work?+
Straight device replacements — outlet for outlet, switch for switch, fixture for fixture — typically don’t require permits. Any new wiring, new circuits, or major changes do. If permits are involved, that’s work for a licensed electrician.
Can you install recessed lighting?+
Retrofit recessed cans (into an existing ceiling without attic access) are within our scope. New construction recessed lighting or runs requiring new wiring from the panel need an electrician.
Can you install a smart switch or dimmer?+
Yes — smart switches, dimmers, and timer switches are straightforward swaps at the device level. Note that some smart switches require a neutral wire; older homes sometimes don’t have one at the switch box. We’ll check before we start.
